Bred by the high elves of Arvis, the arcanahawks serve as the mounts of all Great Houses of the elven kingdom.

Biology

In both size and lifespan, the arcanahawks are comparable to dragons. Most of them resemble a gryphon, although arcanahawks' appearance is manifested by their affinity to the arcane magic - some feather's are pure blue, some only have arcane veins on their bodies.

Arcanahawks are fully sentient, self-aware creatures, they understand Sylvan language, but they're able to communicate telepathically only with their bonded rider.

Arcanahawks also possess a breath weapon in a form of an arcane ray. Many arcanahawks can also innately cast simple arcane spells.

Possession

Only high elves of the Great Houses and their half-elven offsprings can tame an arcanahawk. Taming an arcanahawk is done by completing a Binding Ritual, which is a highly guarded secret among the high elven nobility.
