Backstory

Darrig Lightstone was born 78 years ago in the coastal city of Direshore, far from the mountain halls of Stalmont. His family, master stonemasons, carried the dwarven tradition of craftsmanship while living among the vibrant, chaotic mix of cultures that defined Direshore. It was a city of contrasts—markets filled with laughter and haggling, but also dark alleys where crime festered. From a young age, Darrig saw both the beauty and the flaws of the world around him.

When Darrig was just a boy, a pirate raid shattered the city’s relative peace. Flames engulfed homes, and screams filled the air as the raiders ransacked Direshore. Amid the chaos, Darrig witnessed the clerics of Kadilia, the goddess of justice and light, rise to defend the innocent. Their shining armor and steadfast resolve left an indelible mark on the young dwarf. When the raid ended, Darrig knew what he wanted to dedicate his life to: Kadilia’s justice.

Joining the temple at 25, Darrig devoted himself to service as a cleric of Kadilia. He trained to embody Kadilia’s teachings through action—sometimes as a protector, other times as an enforcer. Over the years, he became a symbol of hope in Direshore, mediating disputes and defending the city from threats. Yet, as the decades passed, Darrig felt the call to leave his home and bring Kadilia’s light to the wider world.

His pilgrimage eventually brought him to the grand city of Cite de Venris, where fate intertwined his path with those of Ergenos and Elathir. The trio was drawn together to hunt down a group of gargoyles terrorizing the city. It was a dangerous mission that tested their courage and skill, but their shared victory forged a bond of trust and camaraderie. Recognizing their shared purpose, the three decided to journey together.

When their travels brought them to Antadon, Darrig quickly adapted to this land of old wounds and simmering tensions. While he was a newcomer, his dedication to justice and his unyielding spirit earned the respect of those around him. As a companion, Darrig is both a moral compass and a fierce protector. His booming laughter and sharp wit bring levity to even the darkest moments, reminding his friends that hope shines brightest in adversity.

With Kadilia’s light guiding him, Darrig stands ready to face whatever trials the road ahead may bring.
