Backstory

Beneath the shadowed peaks of the Dead Mountains, where the silence of the night is often broken by the screams of terror and the clash of steel, the city of Duskrun lived in constant threat of dark elven incursions. They knew the dark elven raids were a frequent occurrence, but little did they know that one fateful night would give rise to a figure who would come to shape the destiny of many - Alynor Etheyn.

His father, Raveth Etheyn, was a feared necromancer amongst the dark elves, whose mastery over the dead was only surpassed by his relentless lust for power. It was during one of these raids that he encountered a young woman, beautiful and fierce in her resistance. Though their meeting was brief and cruel, it resulted in the birth of a child, a half-dark elf with the striking features of his mother and the haunting purple eyes of the Etheyn lineage.

Growing up in Thessendale was no easy task for young Alynor. His gray skin and black hair were a constant reminder of the village’s oppressors. Alienated and ostracized, he soon learned to fend for himself. The tales of his father, Raveth Etheyn, were frequent, used by the village elders to caution children and to foster hatred for the dark elves. But for Alynor, these tales became a source of burning curiosity.

By the age of ten, his nimble fingers and quiet feet made him a successful thief. He found solace and freedom in the act of stealing, not for need, but for the sheer thrill of it. Every theft was a testament to his skills and a middle finger to the society that rejected him.

His escapades, however, soon got him in trouble, and he was forced to flee to the city of Touluire in the Kingdom of Venris. The sprawling city streets, the bustling markets, and the dark alleyways were a haven for Alynor. He soon became one of the most elusive thieves in the city.

It was in Touluire that Alynor first heard the whispers of Furantarr, patron of thieves. Recognizing a kindred spirit, Alynor devoted himself to Furantarr, merging his skills as a thief with the divine blessings of his newfound deity. His actions were neither for the good of others nor for any malevolent intent; he simply reveled in the chaos, always balancing on the edge.

A vision came to him one fateful night. Furantarr himself appeared, bestowing upon Alynor a divine mission. While the specifics of the mission remained shrouded in mystery, it was clear that Alynor's destiny was intertwined with the very balance of the chaotic forces in the realm.

With Furantarr’s emblem around his neck and his trusty tools by his side, Alynor now walks the streets of Touluire, ever watchful, ever elusive, and always unpredictable. And as the whispers of his exploits spread, many wonder if the son of Raveth Etheyn might one day surpass the infamy of his father.
