The Ancient Kingdom of Antadour: A Tapestry of Royal Authority, Nature Reverence, and Shattered Dreams

Structural Majesty

In the bygone era, the Kingdom of Antadour was a realm governed by absolute power, with the King standing as the supreme authority. Every decree issued from the King's lips was considered the embodiment of divine will. The King convened Council meetings with his trusted advisors, including the esteemed High Military Commander, a representative from the Church of Ten Pillars, and the Royal Treasurer. The kingdom's capital, aptly named Harfdour ("Mountain Halls" in Old Antadian), served as the heart of Antadour's governance.

Culture: Guardians of Nature's Secrets

Antadour grew through the gradual unification of forest and mountain communities under the Argis kings. Its cities, trade, social hierarchy and internal disputes shaped the kingdom alongside its traditions of the land. Druidic practice, stag breeding and ancestral rites formed part of its identity within the Ten Pillars, but did not make every Antadian a druid or the kingdom a society free of conflict. The dead were cremated and their ashes interred in the earth. Stags served as mounts and work animals.

Public Agenda: Guardians of the Southern Realms

The primary objective of the Kingdom of Antadour was to safeguard peace and protect the southern realms from threats emanating from beyond the majestic mountains that guarded their lands. The kingdom stood resolute as the bulwark against the encroachment of darkness, standing as a bastion of stability and security.

Assets: Riches of the Land

Antadour boasted a wealth of natural resources, manifesting in the form of abundant mineral deposits that lay beneath the kingdom's fertile soil. The kingdom's expertise in crafting exquisite wood and leather products gained widespread acclaim, solidifying their reputation as masters of artisanal craftsmanship. Antadour also held the distinction of being the world's largest exporter of dairy products and animal skins, a testament to their agricultural prowess.

History: The Rise and Fall of Antadour

Founded in ancient times, the Kingdom of Antadour traced its origins to the very dawn of Lurra's history. Legend whispered tales of the kingdom's progenitors splitting into two groups upon setting foot upon the land. One group, guided by the soaring eagle, ventured eastward, giving rise to the illustrious Kingdom of Venris. The other group, led by the noble falcon's flight, sought the northern expanse, birthing the Kingdom of Antadour. The kingdom thrived for millennia until the fateful day when the malevolence of Angathor unleashed its dark legions upon the world. Antadour, withstanding severe losses, witnessed the leveling of its capital, reduced to mere ruins that now stand as haunting echoes of a bygone era. With the intervention of the Venrisians, the southern territories managed to secure their defense against the encroaching darkness. However, the northern lands bore the brunt of the devastation. Lord Arledge Argis, ruler of the City of Antadon, the kingdom's largest southern stronghold, chose to pledge allegiance to the House of Arenthon, thus becoming a vassal of the Free Kingdom. Learning of his brother's perceived betrayal, King Arthron Argis III launched a desperate assault on Antadon, hoping to reclaim the city and restore it to the kingdom's embrace. Tragically, his endeavor ended in failure.

Disbandment: The Echoes of a Lost Kingdom

In the wake of the ill-fated campaign against Antadon, Lord Arledge and King Arhnold Arenthon seized the remnants of the once-proud kingdom to the north. Their conquest claimed the western Heartlands, Direshore, the City of Antadon, and portions of the rugged mountainous regions, ultimately giving birth to the Dutchy of Antadon. The growing presence of the enigmatic Dark Elves posed a persistent challenge, exacerbating the prevailing difficulties. These tumultuous events precipitated the disbandment of the Kingdom of Antadour, leaving behind a fractured legacy. Lingering amidst the shadows are a valiant group of individuals who bear the moniker of "Rangers," remnants of a bygone era, and the mountains themselves, forever etched in history as the "Dead Mountains," a somber testament to the sacrifices made in their defense.

The Kingdom of Antadour, with its forgotten grandeur and shattered dreams, remains a poignant chapter in the annals of Lurra's history. Its legacy survives in both Antadon and the Old Antadian communities of the Dead Mountains.
