History

Arthur Darkhaven, the second-born child of House Darkhaven of Barcevia, was embroiled in a tragic love story from a young age. He formed a close bond with Thalari, the daughter of Duke Whyllis Argis, and their friendship matured into a deep affection over the years. However, when Arthur turned eighteen, their idyllic world was shattered. Thalari was engaged to Arthur's older brother, Fenilian, which pushed Arthur to desperate measures.

He vowed to reclaim Thalari's affection by any means, even if it meant committing unspeakable acts. His desperation led him to Asmodeus, the Archdevil and ruler of the Hellish Realm of Drahgor. Arthur promised his brother’s soul to the devil in exchange for a life of happiness with Thalari until her death.

Upon sealing the pact, Arthur was imbued with Asmodeus' power, transforming him into a formidable warlock. As part of the deal, he also received a saber, adorned with a silver crossguard and a garnet in the hilt.

The day of his brother's wedding became a turning point. Even though Arthur had never wielded a sword, he challenged Fenilian to a duel for Thalari's heart. The power granted by Asmodeus enhanced his fencing abilities, leading to a swift victory over Fenilian. But when Arthur decided to spare his brother, Asmodeus' voice echoed in his head, "We made a deal, he's mine...".

Arthur was consumed by an eerie laughter in his thoughts and an overpowering force from the saber. Driven by this power, he struck Fenilian in the chest, the sword sucking his soul into Asmodeus' clutches.

Overwhelmed by his actions, Arthur lost control, and Fiendfire erupted from his hands. The Sundaris Chapel in Antadon was engulfed in flames, resulting in a horrific loss of life.

Arthur regained consciousness minutes later outside the temple, with Asmodeus' chilling voice in his head, "It was a pleasure doing business with you, Arthur, but perhaps one day, your soul will be mine as well. The power is yours, as agreed...".

Among the burning ruins of the chapel, he saw a woman crawling out of the flames - it was Thalari. He rushed to her, and with her final breath, she whispered, "I am yours, and even in death, I'm yours. Do not forget me...". As Thalari's eyes closed forever, Arthur unleashed a primal scream, an embodiment of his soul's torment. His eyes flared up in flames, extinguishing to leave a striking crimson color that mirrored the garnet of his saber.

The pact with Asmodeus had been sealed in Thalari's blood. She had remained with Arthur until her death as per the pact, but her demise marked the beginning of Arthur's flight. Aware that the Argis family would seek vengeance for their daughter's death, Arthur found himself pursued by the knights of the Eye of Saquirius.

Determined to escape his fate, he fled to Dreadon, hoping to find a way to break his bond with Asmodeus and free all the souls claimed due to his actions.
