History

House Argis was founded in ancient times. According to legend, as the first human states came into being, one of the two people followed a falcon northwards, founding a state in the Guardian Mountains, which for centuries was known as the Kingdom of Antadour. This kingdom declined during the First War with Angathor.

The situation was not helped by a rebellion in the south of the country when, after receiving aid from the Venrisians, Lord Arledge Argis - steward of the city of Antadon, which was the largest metropolis in the kingdom to the south - paid homage to King of Venris and spoke openly against his brother, Arthron Argis III. The king immediately sent all his forces to retake the rebellious south, leaving his northern borders unguarded. This decision cost him everything. An invasion of dark elves from the north and Venrisians supported by his brother from the south killed the dying kingdom. House Argis has been split into two lesser houses - House Argis of Antadon and House Argis of the Dead Mountains.

This established the Duchy of Antadon, with House Argis of Antadon ruling as dukes and vassals of Venris. The house retains local government, but its authority is constrained by Venrisian demands. The dukes must balance the interests of their country against obligations imposed by their overlord, and partly enforce the exploitation of Antadon themselves.

A talented archer, the youngest child of Duke Whyllis. In her youth, she formed a close friendship with Arthur Darkhaven, which, over the years, blossomed into love. However, their relationship came to an end due to an arranged engagement with Arthur's elder brother, Fenilian. In an act of desperation, Arthur made a pact with Asmodeus, promising his brother’s soul in exchange for the love of Thalari. On the day of Thalari's wedding to Fenilian, Arthur lost control of his newfound power, killing everyone in the vicinity of the altar and completely incinerating the Sundaris Chapel in Antadon. Thalari perished in his arms, and the relations between the Argis and Darkhaven houses have never been worse.
