Born as Jerdain Roquellard, Jerdan Thorne is the second child of the respected Lord Lucien Roquellard, younger brother of Queen Guinevere. One day, during a magizoology lesson where students were encouraged to practice spells on animals, Jerdain's respect for all living creatures culminated in his outright repulsion towards such methods. Unable to reconcile his love for nature with the requirements of his arcane education, Jerdain made the daring choice to escape the Mage's Enclave. He sought refuge in the lush forests of western Duchy of Antadon, embracing the serenity and purity that the natural environment offered.
However, his idyllic retreat was soon interrupted by a pack of wolves, poised to attack the outsider in their midst. Drawing his wand in response, Jerdain was astounded to find that instead of emitting a destructive bolt of energy, his wand began to glow with a serene green light. This glow seemed to pacify the wolves, who, intrigued by the man and his mysterious energy, guided him to a secluded glade. This peaceful sanctuary, populated by a myriad of fey creatures, was a druid grove.
Captivated by the harmony of the grove, Jerdain made the choice to renounce his arcane abilities and dedicate his life to the path of a druid. He committed himself to the teachings of his druidic circle, vowing to safeguard Lurra's flora, fauna, and delicate ecosystems.
Upon learning of Jerdain's abandonment of their family's arcane traditions, the Roquellards disowned him. Cast out and forced to forge his own identity, Jerdain Roquellard adopted a new name – Jerdan Thorne. As Thorne, he wields his yew wand, now serving as his druidic focus, with pride. As a Keeper of his druid circle, he protects his newfound home and all the creatures within with unwavering dedication.
